Who we are and what this policy covers
Anan Global Limited ("Anan Global", "we", "us") operates the website at ananglobal.co and is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
This policy covers this website, the business inquiries we receive through it, by email, or over WeChat, and the job applications we receive by email. It does not cover information we handle on behalf of clients while delivering our services (for example, when we operate a community for a client), which is governed by our agreement with that client, nor our separate products such as Aurora, which have their own terms.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit the project brief form, we collect:
- your name, company, and role or function;
- your work email address;
- your mobile number, which is requested on the Chinese-language form only;
- your target market and current need, selected from a list; and
- any project context you choose to write in the free-text field.
If you email us or add us on WeChat instead, we receive whatever you choose to send, along with your email address or WeChat profile details.
Job applications. If you apply for a role by email, we receive your résumé and anything else you choose to include, such as your name, contact details, education, work history, and availability.
Information collected automatically. Like any website, ours cannot be delivered without some technical data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the time of each request in order to serve the site, keep it secure, and diagnose errors. We do not use this data to identify you or to build a profile of you.
We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send us, sensitive information such as government identifiers, financial account details, health information, or information about children.
How we use information, and our legal bases
- Responding to your inquiry. We use form submissions and messages to reply to you, understand your project, and prepare a proposal or strategy call. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries.
- Assessing job applications. We use application materials only to assess your suitability for the role, to contact you about it, and, if you are hired, to set up your engagement. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in recruiting.
- Managing a business relationship. If we go on to work together, we keep your contact details to manage that relationship. Legal basis: performance of a contract and legitimate interests.
- Keeping the site secure and working. We use technical data and form-abuse checks to prevent spam, detect attacks, and fix errors. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
- Meeting legal obligations. We may retain or disclose information where the law requires it. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
Where the law of your country requires consent for any of the above — as mainland China law generally does — we rely on the consent you give by submitting the form or contacting us, and you may withdraw it at any time.
We will not add you to a marketing mailing list unless you ask us to or agree to it. We do not make decisions about you by automated means, and we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
International transfers
We work with clients and team members across several regions, and our service providers operate globally. Your information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live, including in mainland China, where our collaboration tools store data, and in the United States and other countries where Cloudflare operates.
When we transfer personal information across borders, we take the steps required by applicable data protection law to keep it protected, such as relying on contractual safeguards with the recipient. You can contact us for more information about the safeguards that apply to your information.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiry records for as long as we are in conversation with you, and for up to 24 months after our last contact if the inquiry does not lead to an engagement. If we work together, we keep business contact details for the length of the engagement and for as long afterwards as we need them for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.
If you apply for a role and are not hired, we keep your application for up to 12 months after the hiring decision, in case a suitable role opens, and then delete it. If you are hired, your application becomes part of your engagement records.
Technical logs are kept by our hosting provider for short periods only. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
How we protect information
All traffic to this site is encrypted in transit. Inquiry records are limited to the team members who need them to respond, and the systems that hold them require authenticated access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected;
- have your information deleted;
- restrict or object to our use of your information;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it; and
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@ananglobal.co. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires it. We will never treat you less favourably for exercising your rights.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland. The rights above are yours under the GDPR and equivalent laws. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object at any time.
California. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. California residents may ask to know, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about them.
Mainland China. Under the Personal Information Protection Law, you may access, copy, correct, supplement, or delete your personal information, restrict or refuse its processing, withdraw your consent, and ask us to explain our processing rules.
Children
This is a business website. It is not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
This site links to third-party websites and platforms such as LinkedIn and Discord. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website or the law changes. We will post the new version here and revise the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you directly where we reasonably can.
